Is it really Men’s Mental Health?
For many years there has been this term ‘men’s mental health’ meaning that men, just like women also experience mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, trauma and many other conditions. People have described this change in society as '“the establishment of the patriarchy” and it’s control and manipulation under ‘men’. Men have played this role of the protector and father like safety model, and stability for a long time, meaning that they have been conditioned themselves just like all of us to be a certain character.
The protector side is from our ancestry time where we had to survive and therefore learned to protect, however we are no longer in survival. In fact we are slowly moving out if this matrix way of being, that is the fear conditioning. However as we move out of this conditioning, this means men like all of us, are having some kind of ego death (death of what we believe is our identity).
It is not MEN’S mental health
I want to make it very clear here as to what I am referring to, men’s mental health is NOT an actual thing but rather something else. If we understand what the masculine side of all of us can do then we can understand that it is part of the masculine that is the enabler of this resistance to growth. The masculine energy that we all have within us, plays an equally important role as the feminine energy. The masculine holds and allows for the feminine beside it to grow, the masculine is the stability of strength that the feminine needs, it protects wildly and consistently. It plays it’s part in driving the force forward when needed. However it is not the masculine that grows, in fact this cannot happen unless the feminine is integrated.
Looking at it differently: let’s do some healing
My point is that the real ‘men’s mental health’ is actually the masculine energy that disempowers the feminine by blocking the growth. Men for too long have like everyone been under societal conditioning and this has meant that because of the role they have had to play it has not allowed for inner vulnerability and purpose of growth and transformation. Men have been under the influence of playing a highly masculine role, and because of this, unconsciously have rejected their own feminine side which means they have been afraid to let themselves be seen for their inner truth of humanness and compassion. With some understanding of the importance of vulnerability in transformation, men can work through their mental health difficulties. It takes a brave soul to do this after so many years of conditioning, but right now on this planet, this is what is needed. So let’s be honest about what men’s mental health is and start rebuilding true alignment with ourselves.
